Familiarize yourself with the search options. This will take a few minutes but it saves hours.
Spell it right! The search engine will not check spelling
Use various Keywords that describe your targeted info - you never know which one the site happens to use. If your search term is specific, one keyword may be all you need. If looking for proper names, capitalize the name and choose case sensitive.
Where possible, use a phrase! this will cut the number of "matching" pages to a number you can handle easily
If you get many results, search within the results (see the form at the bottom of the results page)
If you open a potentially good page from the results list, you can locate the occurances of your search keyword or phrase by performing document search (use Edit/Search from your browser's menu)
Bookmark your favorite pages and organize them in folders. Make sure to share your findings with friends!
Example of good usage: searching for "Arabic teaching software": in this case, it won't help alot if you search for "arabic" - you'll get many results! You need to find phrases like "Arabic Teaching Software", "Arabic learning software". Of course, if you want books, you know what to look for.
Examples of poor usage: A user looking for Arabic fonts searched for fonts. Well, you may get many hits but it'll take a while to find what you need unless you are always lucky. Narrow down and demand a match for the phrase "Arabic font".
Another user searched for arabic newspaper but forgot the space between the two words. Please note that typos are not corrected and the search will look for exact match of what you type in.

How to use our local search: [Top of this page]
Well, this search will only find matches on our site. Enter the keyword or phrase you want to search for and click the "Find It!!" button. This is the default search and will look for the exact keyword or phrase you typed in, ignoring upper or lower case. It returns up to 10 results per page and offers a button to click for next results (if more than 10 are found). You can change the options as follows:
Case: if you want to match upper/lower case, choose case sensitive. Match: from the drop down menu, choose "any search term" to return pages with at least one word of what you are looking for. Choose "all search terms" to return pages which contain all the words you are looking for but they may not be in one phrase.
Display: choose the number of results you want displayed per page. Options are: 5, 10, 15, 25, all.
