Our country for today is Turkey, or Arabic turkia. Turkey is, of course, north of Syria. Arabic language and script was used there until early this century. Turkey now uses Latin based characters with Arabic influence on a lot of vocabulary. Needless to say, most of the population are Muslims. By the way, how do you say "In Turkey, there are alot of mosques."?

Heading toward Europe ... Today's word is France, Arabic faransaa. The capital city of France, Paris, has the same name in Arabic with longer i (bariis). Remember, there is no "P" in Arabic! How do we say :"Paris is a beautiful city." ?

Ok, today's word is Britain or biriiTaniaa. Note that this is the lierary meaning of Britain. There are Arabic equivalents of UK and Englad as well. London is written london in Arabic - that's laam-nuun-daal-nuun. How do you say: "what's the capital city of Britain?"?

Today, we travel toward the East .. To India which is al-hind in Arabic. The "al-" is part of the name. Rather than asking what you know about India, how do you ask the question: "What do you know about India"? (sm).

Ok, back to our country of tyoday: it is easy! Canada is alsocalled canadaa in Arabic. How do you say: "Is Canada far (away)?"
