Last Week's Answers
Saturday:
This week, we are going to learn the colors (colours) in Arabic. The basic
ones are presented and as you'll see, they follow a strict rule genderwise. For
each, the masculine is given first, then the feminine. I left a sukuun
at the end of the sm form to avoid an advanced grammatical explanation.
Today's color is 'abyaD which means white (refer to the
software for pronunciation. I hope to add voice someday). How do you say:
" This is a white paper"?

Sunday:
Today's color is green. The Arabic 'aXDar (see alphabet
pronunciation on previous page!) is sm, the sf is XaDraa'. How
do you say: "my book is green and your book is white."?(sm)
Monday:
This is a bit late! Today's word is the color blue which is
'AzraQ in Arabic. The sf is zarQaa'. How do we say:
"The sky is blue."? (sky is sf in Arabic).
Tuesday:
Today's color is yellow which is 'ASfar (sm) and
Safraa' (sf). How do you say: "This is a yellow rose."?
Wednesday:
Today's color is red or 'aHmar in Arabic. the sf is
Hamraa'. Can you write down the Arabic for "This is a red car."?
Thursday:
The Arabic for black is aswad (sm) and sawdaa'
(sf). There is a different word for dark color. How do you
say:"This cat is black."? (sf).
Friday:
To conclude, today's color is gray or ash-hab in Arabic.
The sf is shah-baa'. There are other colors, of course, but
this is enough for now. Your homework: translate "this is a gray
horse" into Arabic.
